Today glass-fronted buildings with futuristic features dominate, but you can see still colonial-style houses, churches erected up to the 19th century and French-influenced buildings from the early 20th century in Art Deco and Art Nouveau style.

Among the symbols of these movements are the classical-style Museum of Sacred Art, the Júlio Prestes Station (home of the largest and most modern concert hall in Latin America: the Sala São Paulo) and the French-inspired Viaduto do Chá.

Visit the modernist MASP and Oca do Ibirapuera, the high-tech buildings in Berrini and Vila Olímpia, not forgetting the Cemetery of Consolation, or icons such as Copam and the Banespa building.
