For the hotels in Portugal – in Madeira and the Algarve – prices are given in euros. For the hotels in Brazil – in Rio de Janeiro, Búzios or São Paulo – prices are given in reais.

For hotels in Portugal VAT is already included in the prices quoted in the tariffs. In Brazil the following taxes will be charged on top of the prices quoted: Porto Bay Rio Internacional – 15%; Porto Bay Búzios – 10% and in L'Hotel Porto Bay São Paulo - 5%

The price of the transfer booked through our site is valid for working days – Monday to Friday – from 08.00 to 20.00. Transfers between 20.00 and 08.00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are subject to a 20% surcharge which should be paid directly to the driver.

You may use any of the following credit cards: American Express, Visa, Eurocard/Mastercard, Diners Club and Access.

If the reservation has been secured with a credit card, pre-payment or in writing you will be charged three nights (bed and breakfast) for reservations cancelled less than seven days prior to arrival.
If the reservation has been secured with a credit card, pre-payment or in writing you will be charged three nights (bed and breakfast) for early departures or no-shows.

Changes to reservations may be made through book@portobay.pt We will do our best to accomodate the changes requested subject to availiability.

You may check in after 14.00 and check out before 12.00. You may request the early check-in or late check-out - by means of a special rate - which is subject to hotel's availability.

 

Personal cheques and eurocheques may only be used for payment when authorised in advance by the hotel management.

Meals are served in the hotel's main restaurant. If there is more than one restaurant in the hotel credit will be granted for the other restaurants. Services paid for but not consumed will not be reimbursed. The half board tariff does not include drinks.

All the Porto Bay hotels have beach/pool towels for use by their guests during their stay. There is no need to bring your own.

In Madeira a Porto Bay bus provides a free shuttle service between the hotels in Funchal. You need to book it by the reception. The route will take you from the Lido area (Eden Mar, Porto Mare and The Residence), along Estrada Monumental (The Cliff Bay) to the cable car / old part of the city (Porto Santa Maria). There are at least five departures throughout the day.

In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we offer the “Car Service”, a private service paid directly by the client.

Recommend a Porto Bay hotel to a friend. If they come to stay in one of the group’s hotel, we will prepare a surprise for you. When your friends arrive (having to be their 1^st time) they will receive in their room a bottle of sparkling wine with a personalized with a personalized card in your name.

 Once you recommend 2 friends you will advance to a higher prestige club level, so that you can achieve gold level faster. If you are already a Prestige Gold member you will receive a bottle of sparkling wine in the next time you come to stay.

 We have special agreements with partners in Portugal and in Brazil, in various areas – tourist attractions, culture, shopping, rent-a-car...  Apart from the discounts and benefits that you have in the hotels, we suggest you to use your card whenever you can.
