Kids Activities Madeira

There are lots of activities you can do with the kids in Madeira.

Depending on the age of your child, activities range from walking tours in the laurel forest to visits to the Madeira Aquarium.

Here are 8 suggestions:

• Take the Cable Car up to Monte, with a visit to the Tropical Gardens and come down in a traditional wicker toboggan.
• Visit the Santa Catarina Park and Pico Fort and have a go on the swings in the children’s play area.
• Go to sandy Machico Beach next to the airport and watch the planes take off and land.
• Swin in the Natural Pools at Porto Moniz.
• Find out more about the history of Madeira at the Madeira Theme Park in Santana or at the Madeira Story Center in Funchal.
• Pay a visit to the animals at the Prazeres Farm Park, in Calheta.
• Go on a boat trip to see whales and dolphins.
• Have fun on the water slides at Aquaparque, in Santa Cruz.

Please be advised that most of our restaurants have special menus for children. But, if you prefer, you can also cook in our hotels, as The Residence and the Eden Mar have rooms with kitchenettes equipped with an oven, fridge and microwave.

During the Easter and Christmas holidays, the The Cliff Bay offers a special programme for young guests and for all ages. In October, we have a week dedicated to children. The programme includes workshops, visits to the kitchen, painting. .. It’s the PortoBay Youth Week.
