Il Basilico is the new Italian restaurant in the city of Porto, with direct access onto Rua Sá da Bandeira, right at the entrance of the refurbished PortoBay Teatro.
Italian comfort cuisine offering delicious risottos, tortellini, ravioli and, as a speciality, pizzas made in a wood-fired oven. A varied menu, served in a space combining Mediterranean décor and a relaxed, comfortable and inviting atmosphere.
In charge of Il Basilico's kitchen are chefs Pedro Spínola and Irene Vietti.
The opening of Il Basilico Porto follows the success of its sister restaurant in Funchal, which is much appreciated by the locals.
THE ATMOSPHERE
The Mediterranean décor incorporates light colours and wood tones. The green notes of the plants and the natural light coming from a skylight give the space a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. In the same room, there is a second more secluded area, with more minimalist décor and warm lighting. You get a glimpse of the wood-fired oven from anywhere in the room plus the delicious aroma of pizza . ..
