PortoBay and ISCTE relaunch the Paquete de Oliveira prize

The aim is to award annual prizes for essays or studies on the media in Portugal. ISCTE (Lisbon University Institute) and PortoBay Hotels & Resorts have relaunched the José Manuel Paquete de Oliveira Prize, created in 2018 and interrupted in the years that followed.

The aim of these two institutions is to pay tribute to José Manuel Paquete de Oliveira, who "as a teacher and journalist, distinguished himself in the defence of Communication Sciences, transparency and neutrality in information, and respect for citizens and democracy". Like the hotel group, he was originally from Madeira.
