The Cliff Bay best hotel in Portugal in Tripadvisor awards

The Cliff Bay hotel, located in Funchal and part of the PortoBay Group, has been highlighted in the Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best 2024, promoted by Tripadvisor. The hotel leads the national Top ranking and is the only Portuguese property featured among the Top 25 Hotels in Europe and Worldwide, ranking 6th in Europe and 25th in the World.

These awards recognise only the top 1% of hotels on the platform, based on user reviews and ratings. The Cliff Bay, a recently renovated five-star property, offers direct sea access and a restaurant awarded two Michelin stars.

In addition to The Cliff Bay, other PortoBay Group hotels were also recognised. PortoBay Flores (Porto), Les Suites at The Cliff Bay, and The Residence (Funchal) were included in Portugal’s Top, Luxury, and Small & Boutique hotel lists. Outside Portugal, L’Hotel PortoBay in São Paulo was featured in the Luxury South America category.

All hotels in the group were also awarded Travelers’ Choice distinctions, which cover approximately 10% of all hotels listed on Tripadvisor—reinforcing the group's solid international presence in the hospitality sector.
