IPANEMA

The beach is a meeting point in the city by day and night. Sophisticated and with an intense nightlife, the neighbourhood is a happy combination of beach, bars and shops. 

Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes immortalized Ipanema Beach in their song 'Girl from Ipanema'. 

Ipanema beach also stages open air events which take place next to the canal dividing the neighbourhood from Leblon. These range from classical music concerts to shows by established artists.
