Il Gallo d’Oro receives the highest distinction from the Repsol

At the gala held on 7 April 2025 at the Convento de São Francisco in Santarém, the Repsol Guide awarded the restaurant Il Gallo d’Oro, located at the five-star hotel The Cliff Bay in Funchal, with three Suns — the highest recognition given by the guide — as well as the Sustainable Sun award, which recognises environmentally responsible practices. Il Gallo d’Oro thus becomes the only restaurant with three Suns to also receive this sustainability distinction.

The restaurant Bistrô4, located in the five-star hotel PortoBay Liberdade in Lisbon, was also highlighted, having been included in the Repsol Guide’s list of Recommended Restaurants. These accolades reinforce the recognition of the gastronomic excellence of the PortoBay Hotels & Resorts group.

The event marked the return of the Repsol Guide to Portugal and awarded, in total, four restaurants with three Suns, 17 with two Suns, 49 with one Sun, 124 Recommended, and four with the Sustainable Sun distinction, promoting quality, innovation, and sustainability in Portuguese gastronomy.
