The 13th edition of the gastronomic event “Duetos” returns to the Il Gallo d’Oro restaurant, bringing together two chefs distinguished with the MICHELIN Green Star!

On 11 October, Chef Benoît Sinthon, from the restaurant Il Gallo d’Oro (two MICHELIN Stars and a Green Star), at The Cliff Bay hotel, welcomes Chef René Mathieu, from the restaurant Fields (one MICHELIN Star and a Green Star), for an exclusive dinner with a menu inspired by the sea and the PortoBay vegetable garden.

Internationally renowned for his signature cuisine based entirely on 100% plant-based creations, René Mathieu will present original dishes such as “corn, popcorn and basil” and “cauliflower, verbena and mint”.

On this special evening, the two chefs will explore the potential of vegetables and cereals, creating authentic and memorable flavour combinations. The experience will be accompanied by a selection of Portuguese wines, carefully paired by resident sommelier Leonel Nunes.


"Duetos" (Duets) is the name of the new series of gastronomic events by PortoBay Hotels & Resorts. By definition, a duet is a "composition performed by two voices or two instruments". The Duets we are proposing are also made by two voices, the resident chef and the guest chef, and the result is also a composition, in this case culinary, between the products and ingredients from the restaurants' places of origin. This culinary composition will be accompanied by live music.
